Post Rock Scenic Byway
Wilson is at the south end of the Post Rock Scenic Byway. This route is named for the extensive use of limestone.

The US Corp of Engineers site for Wilson Lake. Covering 9,000 acres with over 100 miles of coastline, Wilson Lake is "The Clearest Lake In Kansas".

- Cheyenne Bottoms
To the south 30 miles is Cheyenne Bottoms where nearly one-half of all North American shorebirds migrating east of the Rocky Mountains and up to one-quarter million waterfowl stop during seasonal migrations on the 41,000-acre lowlands. One of the "8 Wonders of Kansas".
- Kansas Wetlands Educational Center
Walk through state-of-the-art exhibits that tell the story of Cheyenne Bottoms. From inside the Center or out, watch Great Blue Herons stalking their prey or Mallards tending their young.

Lucas is one of the many interesting towns to explore around Wilson. It's known for their encouragement of the fine arts.

In Hays, 50 miles west on I-70, this four-story dome museum has many permanent and traveling exhibitions that span the past 88 million years.
